An unbroken series of romantic places and landscapes between Rothenburg ob der Tauber and Füssen at the foot of the Alps.
On forest, field and meadow paths, in towns on footpaths and always right through the city centers - because why would you walk on a "Romantic Road" - the route leads through the Franconian wine country down to the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau in the Allgäu.
You will experience the romance of the old towns of Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Creglingen, Dinkelsbühl, the old imperial city of Donauwörth, aristocratic towns such as Schillingsfürst, towns of the knightly order such as Bad Mergentheim or the residence in Wallerstein.
The half-timbered town halls and the Gothic parish churches, the quiet fountain squares and baroque pilgrimage churches, the old aristocratic castles, friendly villages, palaces and wayside chapels, in the south the romantic towns of Augsburg, Landsberg, Schongau and Füssen and the symbol of romance par excellence, the dream castle of Neuschwanstein, King Ludwig II of Bavaria.
A special feature on this tour is the Ries near Nördlingen with the impact crater of a large celestial body with a diameter of 21 km!
